Dear Parents,
I wanted to take this opportunity to talk to you about our leadership program that is being offered to our players on Sunday afternoons during the months of March, April and May. The program was established 4 years ago to help our players understand the important role they play as leaders on our football team. We want to be proactive with our athletes in teaching them the values and characteristics needed to be successful at football and life. Our program is designed to give players a better understanding of our team expectations and philosophy as a whole, as well as to help our athletes grow in the areas of goal setting (both personal and team), leadership style, and team building. We will be using the movie Band of Brothers this spring to help us accomplish these goals.
The program is open to all of our football players regardless of their grade level or position on our football team. I would strongly encourage that you encourage your athlete to participate in the program and I hope I have cleared up any misunderstandings that may have occurred. Our next meeting is on Sunday, March 27th from 4:00 to 5:15 P.M. in room 114. Also, I have asked our GridIron Club to post information about our leadership program on the website and this should be updated very soon. The GridIron Club plans to keep the website updated with information about the football program year round. Please take a minute from time to time to visit the website at www.normalwestfootball.com to check for important updates regarding our football program. Have a great spring break and I hope to see your athlete in the future.
Sincerely,
Darren Hess, Head Football Coach, Normal Community West High school
