The Freshman Wildcats kicked off their high school careers with a 14-20 loss to Champaign Centennial. It looked bright early with a deep bomb by Genya thrown to Alex Peacock. A couple turnovers later West was trailing by 6 late in the game and couldn’t get the big plays they needed. Another bright spot for the Cats was Keith Brigham who had a touchdown and a big game on the ground. Unfortunately he had to come out in the fourth quarter with a hand injury. Their next game is Thursday night at home against Eisenhower.
